GETTING HERE

There are no major airports in Fairfield, but there are three international airports within 40-60 miles or driving time of about 2 hours.

The nearest major airport Travis Air Force Base is Sacramento International Airport, 43 miles away. Take I-5 North to Woodland and transfer to State Route 113 south (a left turn) to I-80 South; continue on I-80 south to Leisure Town Road (just north of Vacaville), a left turn south toward base and follow signs to gate.

San Francisco International Airport is located about 65 miles from the base. To drive to base, take US-101 North to I-80 North and follow I-80 to Fairfield. In Fairfield exit I-80 to Air Base Parkway and follow the parkway to base gate. This is not the most direct or shortest route, but it has the fewest route switches and is probably the easiest to follow from San Francisco.

Oakland International Airport is 62 miles away. Exit the airport to I-880 North to I-80 / I-580 East; follow I-80 to Fairfield. In Fairfield exit I-80 to Air Base Parkway and follow it to the base gate. It is not the shortest route, but it has the fewest route switches and may be the easiest to follow from Oakland.

Taxi service is available from the airports, but is extremely expensive at these distances.

If arriving by car cross-country, Travis Air Force Base is in Fairfield, California, on the northeast side of the Bay Area. This is about 60 miles from San Francisco or 45 miles southwest of Sacramento. From most Air Force bases in the US, the easiest route is to make your way to Sacramento and take I-80 West toward Fairfield. From north or south, take I-5 to Sacramento and transfer to I-80 West.

There is an Amtrak train station in Suisun City, on Main Street. Ground transport should be arranged.
